Data You Give Us Directly
Information is received directly only when a visitor chooses to provide it through an available communication method. That may include a name, email address, and the text of a message. Do not submit criminal-record files or other sensitive personal details. This website does not need them to provide general reference material.
Data We Gather Automatically
A visit can create routine technical records such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, and visit time. Cookies or similar technologies may help measure traffic, remember settings, prevent abuse, and support advertising. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, though some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the website, understand which material visitors use, diagnose errors, meet legal duties, and improve page performance. It may also support advertising and referral measurement. Personal information is not sold as a criminal-record product, and visitor data is not used to create a dossier about a person named in a search.
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Harrison County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of individual criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Harrison County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository, MODOC, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and does not assemble visitor information into consumer reports.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes may be supplied by independent providers. A provider can receive the terms entered, technical device information, and interaction data under its own privacy policy. Harrison County Criminal History does not control how an outside provider collects, keeps, or uses that information. Review the provider's terms before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to official Missouri and Harrison County resources as well as other services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy practices apply. A link does not transfer control over that site or guarantee its availability, security, or handling of personal information.
Who Might See Your Data
Information may be shared with service providers that host, secure, analyze, or support the website; with advertising or search partners involved in a visitor's interaction; or when disclosure is required by law, legal process, safety needs, or protection against fraud and abuse. Providers receive only the access reasonably needed for their role.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute protection cannot be promised. Information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose collected, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and system protection.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from a person known to be under 18 is not knowingly collected. A parent or guardian who believes a minor supplied personal information may use the contact route in the site footer to request review.
Your Data Rights
Rights can depend on residence and the law that applies. Missouri's consumer-protection framework includes the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, RSMo ยง407.020, while public government records are governed separately by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610. Subject to lawful limits, a visitor may ask about personal data provided directly, request correction or deletion, opt out of nonessential messages, and change browser cookie settings. A request may require reasonable identity verification.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change when services, practices, or legal duties change. The revised version will appear here with an updated effective date. Continued use after a revision means the current policy governs that later visit.
